Quar Crusader Command: What's in the Box?

Quick Answer

The Quar Crusader Command box equips your Crusader company with essential leaders and support models, including a Caerten, Standard Bearers, Musicians, and Messenger Squirrel Handlers. It's a must-have for players who want to field a properly led Quar force.

Why Command Models Matter in Your Quar Army

In tabletop wargames, command models do more than look good on the shelf. They provide the leadership and coordination your troops need to function effectively on the battlefield. The Quar Crusader Command box delivers these key figures in plastic, so you can build out the backbone of your Crusader company.

The set includes a Caerten to lead your force, Standard Bearers to rally troops, Musicians to signal orders, and Messenger Squirrel Handlers to pass critical commands. Each model serves a distinct purpose, and having them all in one box saves you the hassle of sourcing individual models.

If you're new to Quar miniatures, this kit is a solid starting point. It gives you the essential command elements without requiring you to buy multiple separate sets. For veteran players, it's a convenient way to reinforce or expand your existing command options.

Trade-offs to Consider

While the Quar Crusader Command box is a great value, it's not for everyone. If you already have a command squad from another set, you might find this redundant. The kit focuses on command models only, so you won't get additional line troops or heavy weapons.

Another consideration is the plastic construction. While plastic is easy to work with and allows for customization, it requires assembly. If you prefer pre-assembled metal or resin models, this kit might not be your first choice. However, for most hobbyists, the assembly is part of the fun and offers greater flexibility in posing and conversion.

Also, note that the box does not include rules or stats. You'll need a rulebook or army list to use these models effectively. This is typical for miniature kits, but it's worth keeping in mind if you're expecting a complete game-ready package.

Decision Rules for the Quar Crusader Command

• Need a command squad?: If your Quar Crusader army lacks a command unit, this box is the most direct way to get one. It includes the key officers and support models you need.
• Prefer plastic kits?: If you enjoy assembling and customizing your miniatures, this plastic set offers flexibility for posing and conversions. If you prefer pre-assembled models, consider other materials. Plastic kits require assembly and gluing.
• Already have a command squad?: If you already own a command squad from another set, this box may be redundant. Instead, consider expanding with infantry or other unit types. Check your existing collection before purchasing.
